Combined with the 4K HEVC Pro Card, the LU600 allows professional broadcasters and content creators to benefit from unparalleled video performance with extreme bandwidth efficiency - using one of the smallest portable cellular bonding units in the markets. Broadcasters can provide the same video quality as H.264 while using about half the bandwidth. In cases where original H.264 bitrate is maintained, the HEVC Pro Card offers greatly improved video quality.

LiveU's LU600 HEVC product suite offers three configuration to meet customers' specific production needs, including : HD, 4K-HDMI and 4K-SDI. The 4K HEVC solution enables VR and 360 degree applications.

ACTIVE EXTERNAL ANTENNA FOR EXTRA-STRONG RESILIENCY IN EXTREME SCENARIOS

The LiveU Xtender integrated active antenna solution increases network reception, providing additional resiliency for live video transmission in extreme scenarios such as heavily crowded areas. The Xtender offers broadcasters the flexibility to use cellular connectivity as part of their existing SNG/ENG trucks, bonding cellular and satellite connections to create a hybrid vehicle for ultimate live video performance, or to remotely connect to LiveU’s backpack and handheld uplink units.

LiveU’s active external antenna, the LiveU Xtender, increases network reception, providing additional resiliency for live video transmission in extreme scenarios, such as heavily crowded locations.

The LiveU Xtender adds six additional network connections to LiveU’s LU200, LU500 and LU600 professional-grade units and covers all current 3G/4G LTE cellular network bands worldwide. The LU500 and LU600 can connect wirelessly to the LiveU Xtender, supporting up to 18 network connections. The LiveU Xtender can be remotely-located or vehicle-mounted, creating a revolutionary mobile newsgathering (MNG) vehicle with satellite-like reliability, faster set-up time and lower overheads than traditional SNG trucks.

LRT™ (LiveU Reliable Transport)

LiveU’s unique Reliable Transport protocol (LRT™) is at the heart of LiveU products to deliver optimized video performance. LRT™ enables reliable, low delay live video streaming over non-guaranteed IP networks and ensures reliable transport over the most unreliable of networks, including cellular networks - allowing you to acquire exciting live content in even the most remote locations.

PACKET ORDERING

LRT uses numbered packets so that the packets can be re-ordered when they arrive out of order. Packet Ordering is an absolute requirement with connection bonding, where data usually arrives in a different order than intended.

DYNAMIC FORWARD ERROR CORRECTION

Forward Error Correction (FEC) adds some overhead to the stream to recover lost data faster. LRT automatically varies the FEC parameters based on monitored network conditions.

ACKNOWLEDGE AND RESEND

LRT can acknowledge large groups of packets if they all arrived. If some did not arrive, it can inform the streaming engine to resend needed data. By acknowledging large groups of packets at a time, LRT uses less overhead and latency. Unlike UDP, LRT gives complete feedback loop so the user knows that the data is arriving correctly.

ADAPTIVE BIT RATE ENCODING

As the bandwidth condition changes, LRT automatically recognizes this and informs the video encoder to allow it to adapt the bit rate of video it is delivering and keep the best possible stream within the available bandwidth at any given moment.
